Password Warning

Password warning

I saw an article the other night in one of the give-away news papers that said approx 1.8 million Britons could be at the risk of fraud because they use the same password for every site that they log into. Worse then that a high percentage of them use guessable words such as their parents names, children’s names, favourite football clubs etc – change your password now!

Be Aware Of Free Security Software

Be Aware Of Free Security Software

I’m not saying that all free anti-virus and internet security software doesn’t offer reasonable protection from malware. You just have to remember that the free version will have limited functionality, so check out the functionality to ensure that the security software it provides you with is OK. If it doesn’t then upgrade to a paid-for version or shop around .

Buying Memory

Buying Memory

Don’t do what a friend of mine just did, buy memory for your computer that is not compatible lucky that he kept the receipt. If your upgrading memory check what you have first. Just right-click the My Computer (in Windows XP) or Computer (in Vista) icon on your desktop select properties and on the General tab you will see the name of the computer manufacturer, the processor type and the amount of RAM, write all this down and then go shopping for that extra RAM.

Internet Explorer

Where is my menue bar?

OK so Microsoft removed the menu bar from IE7, but like most things you can get it back. Just hit the Alt key and it will pop into view, to keep it there, right click a blank area of the toolbar and select menu bar from the context menu and there you have it!
