What can I use in place of Wikipedia

What can I use in place of Wikipedia

Wikipedia and what else

Very quick one as the actress said to the bishop – what else can I use apart from Wikipedia

Here is what I use

Factbites.com – very precise info bit like a cross between a search engine and an encyclopaedia.

About.com – this site does list the author so check them out on-line before taking everything at face vlaue.

Britannica.com – an old faithful but does cost about 8$ a month

Browser Tool

Nice little freebie if your like me and use different browsers for different projects, then check out this tool. All you have to do is configure it to work with all the browsers you have on your machine and then set it as default. When you click on a link in twitter or in an email the tool will open and you can simply select what browser you want to use from a menu – enjoy

BBC iPlayer

I love the BBC iPlayer and was very happy to find out that the BBC will be opening up its player service to other content providers . Which will mean that we should see some foreign broadcasters – keep an eye out for future updates.

Go to top or bottom of page

Simple I know but surprising so many people don’t know – To move to the top of a web page just press the Home key. To jump to the bottom of the web page press the End key:-0
